April in England
« on: October 23, 2017, 02:38:30 PM »
My daughter and I are scheduled to be in Canterbury on the 26 & 27 of April then leave on the 28 for Norwich and the Pinhole meetup....Canterbury is twofold..I want to finally meet Leon and we are also staying right next door to Canterbury Cathedral... any filmwasters out there think they could meet up in Canterbury? Leon tells me it is just an hours train from London.

Hi Diane, I'll try to make sure I'm around, maybe on the Friday. If the weather is good we could go to the beach, it's not far from Canterbury.

Nigel! That is wonderful news! I sent Damion a message this morning allowing him plenty of notice! I am hoping Ed and the rest of the “gang” might join in!

Canterbury is do-able for me, and I've been thinking of going there for a while.

Hi Diane,

Sounds great to me.  I'm looking for a reason to spend a couple of days photographing around that time as April into May is one of my favourite times of year in the UK.

I'm a mere 20 minutes from Canterbury, so would definitely like the opportunity to put some names to faces...

Canterbury is a very compact city. In two days, you could probably see it all twice, so Nigel's idea of a visit to the coast is a good shout... a wide variety of towns, beaches and bays from Deal to Whitstable, and of course, Britain's oldest brewer in Faversham, only a short hop from Canterbury (see what I did there... hop... brewer...  ;D I'll get me coat...  :-[).

I am so delighted to read that this may be doable for some! I hope Ed can make it? Also as many others that could join us! I am really looking forward to this meet up.

All things being equal I should be able to make the jaunt down the A2/M2 and join in the fun

I'm up for this - providing I'm allowed to bring a long lens to a landscape shoot. Although after the Share the Love thread, I may give my 22mm superwide an outing, too.

Make that two more! I haven't been that way in literally years.

If we have a Filmwaster meetup, can I bring my dog?

Bump.

Just a reminder to those interested. We're meeting on Friday 27 April and heading to the coast.

I did think about going to Margate - Turner Gallery and the Anthony Gormley statue but low tide is 8.24am. I suppose we could go there in the morning and somewhere else in the afternoon?

Shout out if you're coming and for suggestions of lovely Kentish places to visit, also recommendations for lunch?  :)
