wephota -instead of that galaxy paper stuff

uhm... so how does iso 200 paper sound? comes in 4x5 and 8x10.  :o

I saw this written in a galaxy paper thread over on flickr:

"Anyway, somewhere in a small town in Eastern Germany, some remnant of ORWO is not doing a Kickstarter, but instead, film. Or paper, rather.
Wephota is a super small company that uses 3rd party manufacturers (AFAIK Foma) to make film which they then cut into all kinds of formats. That's why I've contacted them because I was looking for affordable film for my Quarterplate Graflex. Their website is abysmal and not up-to-date, so I contacted them directly for a price list.
In their reply they also mentioned the 200 ASA (!) 4x5 paper (!) they're offering. And that is real! No Kickstarter, no nothing, just the product. There is an online store that stocks it as well: (site only in German I'm afraid)

I have not seen any examples yet, but I'm quite tempted to try it. 19 Euros won't break the bank..."

Now that is some good news.
People are getting tired of kickstarters that just go nowhere...

Film is the vinyl record of photography.
