weekend July 21 - 23

Hi, here are 2 more from the long expired Kodak EPT 160. Looks like the old Vivitar 2.8/24 is my new favorite wideangle lens.

Lovely photos! I liked the horses one... Reminds me of some fields of Europe where I have never been, yet I feel nostalgic about.

I haven't shot much lately. Broke + no time is not a good combination, however, I found in the trunk of my car, inside the spare-tire compartment, an old roll of Kodak GC 400 with an expiration date of 2009, so I loaded it into my $5 Fujica Compact 35 and went to take some shots. Exposed at EI-200 since that's as far as the sensor goes in the little camera.

As you can see, marks and streaks everywhere. The C-41 kit is exhausted so I have a new one that just arrived... Just need to mix it.

This last one was taken with Portra 160, in the Canon EOS 7 Elan 7 with the 50mm 1.8:

The Wings of Freedom tour stopped by so I had a good opportunity to try out my new Olympus XA2.  Ilford Pan F Plus 50 developed in Beer and Fujifilm Xtra 400 35mm film developed by a lab.

The Rollei's been loaded for a couple of weeks now and is still on frame 1; gonna be a long summer. So, one from the archive. Leica M6, Tele-Elmarit 90 (thin), Tri-X. I'm quite fond of the visual effect this lens gives with a wide aperture and shallow DOF.

Also, a couple of shots for Bryan, of B-24's and B-17's in flight, March 1944. My dad was a photo lab tech, attached to a B-17 reconnaissance squadron. He would periodically go out on a mission to grab aerial shots. Not sure what camera he used, likely a Speed or Crown Graphic. These were shot on reclaimed Kodak topographic film (the lab guys cut any remaining 4" aerial film into 4x5 sheets and various rollfilm formats, so they always had film for personal use.)

Great start as always. I love the airplane shots and the wide Cuba composite.

I'm somewhere in there with Miguel and Earl. I just can't get through the two rolls I have loaded. So here's one I came across that I scanned and never did anything with. This is Kodak BW 400CN in my Nikon N2020 probably with the Nikkor 50/1.8 attached.

Those are great, thanks for sharing those!  It must have been quite a sight to see all those bombers in the air.  The site I'm working at now is very close to the airport that this tour stopped at, it was impressive to see and hear them fly over.  One of my co-workers paid a chunk of money to go for a ride in the B-17, he's not regretting it.  They even let him stick his head out of the hatch on the top looking back toward the tail.

Last weekend I loaded my Pentacon Six with some expired Ilford Delta 400 to test out the Kaleinar 150mm that I had recently cleaned up the aperture blades on. Seems to work fine, the missing shims will probably not show up unless you put it in a test rig. But this trip reminded me of why I don't use it so often, the lens weighs 1.1 kg on it's own. I'm considering the Zeiss Biometar 120mm in stead, only half the weight. But I must say that the Kaleinar has a very pleasant background blur.

I love Hookstrapped's joiner and Irv's dancers.

This is an XA2 shot on T-Max - why is it whenever you're trying to use up a film you don't like it seems to last forever!

This seems like a banner weekend thread.  Ponies, Peak District, pool construction are some highlights for me as are the dancers and that poor, lonely dog.  My head spins with the thought that someone would go on a reconnaissance mission in wartime to "grab aerial shots".

Riding my bicycle on some dirt roads through the Gândara, I spotted this disused limestone quarry—one of many in this part of Portugal.  I will return, someday, with a larger format camera to explore and make more pictures.  (It's also a nice, quiet place for a picnic.)

Great shots everyone!. I specially like the bulb ones from Irv  :)

Mine of this weekend was shot not long ago with a Kowa Six on TriX, in poor light. Hope you like it.

A nice weekend so far. 'Boris' from James is my current favorite.

Here is a shot I took recently with my Oly XA2 using my usual Rollei RPX100@200 and Rodinal 1+25 combo.

My head spins with the thought that someone would go on a reconnaissance mission in wartime to "grab aerial shots".

You would have to have known my dad (and my grandmother). He used to say that the war saved him from his mother, and that the army provided some adventure that would never have been allowed at home. He spent most of his time in the darkroom, developing and printing recon photos, so would seek out opportunities to see some daylight. I have a number of photos from his time at RAF Alconbury and will post them in a photo essay.

Finally posting after a few weeks off. This is from my recent tour of the UK. Full photo essay here: http://www.filmwasters.com/forum/index.php?topic=9291.0

This is from the cool artist commune-ish area in Birmingham. Taken on Tri-X @800 in a Canonet, developed in HC110.

Thanks, Bryan. The B-17 tour was in Eugene, OR, in mid-March. We were at the airport waiting for a flight and I was able to see, and hear, the plane take off. Had I known earlier that it was going to be there, we would have tried to delay our trip home in order to take a flight. I posted more photos in the Essay section.

Bummer. I got in early, too and immediately answered the P30 survey (also kept my E6 reward). My credit card was charged the day before I got shipping information, so watch for that.
