First Roll through a Rollei 35T
« on: December 31, 2016, 12:18:43 AM »
Apologies if some of these are a bit repetitive but this is a random selection from 37 shots I got from the first (currently only) roll of Ilford XP Super I put through the Rollei 35T a couple of days ago.  The camera is in almost mint condition.  It's the Singapore model with a 40mm f3.5 Tessar zone-focus lens (35T means Tessar).  There's a 35S (f2.8 Sonnar) version which seems to be a bit pricier (faster lens?) but apparently has a different lens signature.  Again, zone-focus.  Maybe I'll get one to compare but I am extremely pleased with the 35T.

The collapsible, rubber lens hood perished and ripped, so the shots are without lens hood.  I've found a metal replacement which I'll use if I'm really keen to cut down on flare but, if I'm honest, I actually like the flare / glow that not using the hood seems to have allowed.

A right good start straight out of the box Paul!
The first St Pauls is the best Ive seen in a long long time and as been said the flare shot is superb
When the evenings get a little lighter why don't we have a quick photowalk round town?

Cheers, Irv.  I'm always up for a wander round town.  Drop me a PM with a couple of dates when you're available and I'm sure we can figure something out.

Did you take it to the Justin Beiber concert in the O2 arena?

Justin Bieber? I wouldn't p*ss on his tonsils if his back teeth were on fire.  Behave yourself, Binns, or I won't be buying you beer in 2017  ;)  :o

This is one of the cameras on my shortlist. I want something small and unobtrusive I can take out with me when I don't want to carry the SLR.

Cheers!

And lovely work! I particularly like the friends walking past Shakespeare.

Thanks for all the kind comments.

I've just run a roll of Fuji Superia 400 through the camera - but with a bit more varied subject matter in front of the lens.  It's in the lab being processed just now but hope to have it back for the weekend. From memory, the lighting was a "flatter", so I might end up converting to mono as dull lighting often doesn't do it for me with colour film.  We'll see.

I am in favor of the flare too.
That little camera in your hands is quite a treat.
Looking forward to seeing the colour shots.
 Well done Paul!!!

Great shots, I love my 35B they say the lens on mine is not as sharp as the others
