Nikon L35AF lens hacked to Leica Thread Mount
« on: May 13, 2015, 04:18:27 PM »
I finally got together a project I'd been contemplating for some time, converting the Sonnar-formula 35/2.8 lens from a Nikon L35AF into a Leica Thread Mount. It took quite a while to fine-tune, but overall it came together without too many major complications, all things considered.

And a couple samples, just to show that it works (both taken with the Leica IIIc shown above):

The whole sordid story can be read here: https://filmosaur.wordpress.com/2015/05/13/lens-hacking-made-easy-not/
Any man who can see what he wants to get on film will usually find some way to get it;
and a man who thinks his equipment is going to see for him is not going to get much of anything.

Me too. That was part of the appeal of using that old Soviet lens as a mount.

You're right when you say imagination can be a bad thing... I have one of those "bad" projects in pieces that I need to find a way to finish off.
Why is it that SLR's are all so thick? For my project I will need to bring the camera inside the lens a bit... odd design will ensue.
