I've been making a real effort to keep film in as few cameras as possible, and since this thread appeared at one of the moments where my effort is actually working, my list is quite short:

Kodak Brownie Hawkeye: Fomapan 200 (just loaded for Toy Camera Day - it will again be empty in a few hours)
Olympus Pen D3: TMax 100 (this is my always-loaded camera, and being half-frame, a 36-exp roll lasts a long time)

EDIT: Full disclosure - I just decided to load my Holga 135 Pan to make it a two toy camera day, so add to the list:

Holga 135 Pan: Kodak Gold 200

Any man who can see what he wants to get on film will usually find some way to get it;
and a man who thinks his equipment is going to see for him is not going to get much of anything.

Kodak 35 RF - Kodak Gold 200, expired 2001.
Kodak Brownie Hawkeye - Kodak TMax 100.
Viewmaster Stereo Camera -  Fuji Velvia 100

I always have film in the Viewmaster, it takes a while to get through a roll.  Usually I will have some 8mm cine film in a camera but I just finished a roll a few weeks ago.  I had the Hawkeye loaded for toy camera day but my trip to Boise, ID went way longer than expected so the only one I have right now is the Kodak 35 RF.

- Olympus OM2n: Kodak Portra 400
- Nikon (FE, FM3A, F5 and F6): Empty
- Hasselblad (Xpan, 500c/m and 500el/m): Empty
- Rolleiflex 2.8e: Empty
- Holga 120CN: Empty

I shot 14 rolls of Ilford Delta 400 with the Rolleiflex when on holiday in Malta (got back last week) and that's just been sent to UK Film Lab for processing and scanning.

Recently picked up a nice (but cheapo) Olympus OM2n and in the process of running a film through it.  I've had a few OM2ns in the time between the first one in 1980s and now and keep going back to them as they are beautiful to look at and use.

Yep - with 30mm, 45mm and 90mm lenses.  I wanted to get out more with it this year but too much on the go.  If I can simplify things a little, I'm hoping Autumn might be a bit kinder and allow me out a bit more at weekends.

I love my rangefinders, I'm going to sell all my Canon digital and might try and get an Xpan to go with my Leicas

You might want to look at a Fuji TX-1. It's the same as the Xpan but made for the Japanese market.

Good luck.

I was after the Fuji option (as the camera is more Fuji than Hasselblad) but got somewhat p*ssed off trying to find a TX-1 in Europe and ended up with an original XPan in VERY nice condition with 45mm and 90mm lens.  My missus treated me to the 30mm lens for my birthday.  You can get similar "look" if you get a Nikkor 35mm perspective control lens (which has a similar image circle) and you use a Hasselblad to Nikkor converter. However, the 30mm is a superb optic.

I've been making a real effort to keep film in as few cameras as possible...
I have been trying desperately to do that as well, mainly because I either forget the camera is loaded, or forget what is in it.  ::)

In fact that happened Friday when I popped open my M645 (that had the WL finder attached to it -- and therefor did not have anything attached to it which would indicate what I ISO I was metering at) and found that my film was 1.5 stops faster than I thought it was. (I compensated in processing it tho.)

So I try generally to keep things empty.
  • Mamiya M645 - FP4+
  • OM2 - FP4+ (95% sure as it is set at 125  ::))
  • OM1 - HP5+ (A roll transferred mid-roll from an SureShot autofocus point and shoot that I gave up trying to love)
  • Pentax Auto 110 - Orca (sitting for a while, need to shoot it)

most of the instant cameras have 1-2 shots left.. so that's about half of the loaded cameras.

I write a lot about different cameras,, I should at least handle a few of them to ease the writing ;D..

TK does indeed win! Are those the dates that you loaded the film? So you have over one year old photos in your cameras? Good luck remembering what the hell you were thinking when you took those shots! :P

Having only a handful of cameras, I don't need a database program, just a notepad on my cellphone  :D

Canonet - Tri-X
XA - XP2 (expired) @200
SR-T102 - Ektar
Graflex Ciro - Tri-X

I'm more excited about my list of film in my fridge, but that's for another time, another thread :)

This will be a very short list:

Mamiya RZ67 - TMax 100; just finished Portra 400 in another film back.

My aim is to keep things at that level of simplicity for some time.

Holy Shmoly, TK! I'm impressed not only at the sheer size of that list, but also that you're organized enough to keep track of all that. Nice :)

Yesterday, I had 3 shots of Portra 400 left in the Holga and an unknown number of shots left of Tri-X in the ONDU 35mm pinhole.

Now I have no cameras loaded with anything.

Please don't kick me out of the clubhouse!  :o

I'm going to develop three rolls this week - two of which have been waiting for that Tri-X in the ONDU so I could do them all in one day - and then I'll regroup and load something up. I'm thinking the Zorki hasn't been out to play in a while, and there's still really great color on the trees, so it will probably be Portra 160.

And hopefully, I'll get that light leak in the Land Camera taken care of and load that up with some 100C.

TK Wins!
TK does indeed win!
What do I win? WHERE'S ME PRIZE! ;D

..but also that you're organized enough to keep track of all that. Nice :)
That's just the overall list, there is more detail in each entry. I dont do per frame tracking as that take way too much time. but I do keep track of rough roll info like date ranges and location. example frame 1-4 national park 2014-06, frame 5-10 streets PDX, frame 10-12 macro. This is written down on one page in a small note book with a golf pencil. this way I have some idea of what on the roll.

been very lazy with the instant cameras; every time I have 1 or 2 exposure left and not finish the pack in the filed, I tend not to take the camera out again. Many of the system cameras are listed multiple times because of different backs.

Also, I just realized the Tri-X in my Graflex has been in there for over a year. I had a project involving double exposures that I kind of put to the side for a while, which turned into a longer while, which turned into an even longer while  :o So I may win at the longest time spent in a camera  ;D

I actually don't have any cameras loaded other than my Holga. I finished off the roll in my M5, Bronica and my P67 hasnt been loaded since my trip. I still carry my M5 with me every day but cant decide what film to use so I carry a few and wait for an occasion.

This thread has really got under my skin as it's sort of brought home the absurdity of my owning that amount of kit.  Fair play to anyone who owns a lot of camera gear as I must admit that I've thoroughly enjoyed using all the kit I have.

However, as I don't use some of it as regularly as I'd like, I'm seriously considering disposing of a lot of it and retaining one 35mm, one rangefinder / panoramic, one 6x6 and my recently acquired MPP 5x4.

I can't afford to "give" the stuff away but the funds released might also pay for a few adventures and the odd accessory for the kit I retain.

My "justification" is that I'd like to have one camera for standard B&W (Canonet), one for pushed B&W (N/A), one for color (SRT ... usually E6 to be xpro'd), and finally one to keep in my pocket as a street shooter (XA). In addition I have the Graflex for doubles, but I haven't used that in quite a while...

Therefore, I'm still looking for a camera to push B&W in :D

Ive heard good things about the electros for low light performance that is if you get a decently functioning one. Im sure ive said it before but I actually prefer the yashica 1.7 over the canon 1.7 in the ql17.

A Yashica is definitely on the shortlist.

Another good low light camera is the Canon EF. Metered exposures up to 30 seconds. And an -2EV meter makes it a dream to use.

The lens on the Yashica Electros is really good. I wouldn't have sold mine if I got along with the rest of the camera. Servicing the Electros can be a little tricky if the wiring is wonky, but the POD is pretty easy to deal with and the shutter is quite a simple mechanism (due to the electrical actuation).

Agreed but, if you're going down the SLR route and you want compact size and a superb meter, I can also recommend the Olympus OM2n.  The lenses are also very compact and discreet.  An OM2n with a 50mm f1.4 or 1.8 attached is only marginally bigger than a Leica M6 with a 50mm Summicron (and the meter in the Olympus is significantly more sophisticated than the Leica's).

My friend must have 20+ Leica M's he has 2 MP's one is still boxed never opened, and cupboards full of other cameras, we have a film group at our club no matter what camera you mention he usually has one
