So last week I was in Berlin for a couple of days, only had my AE1 and XA2 with me and shot 4 rolls of 35mm. I gave Lomo cine200 another go and well it gave that 80's look a lot more then with the first roll.

A little south of potsdammerplatz I found this old GDR watchtower, bought By three guys after the wall fell, only with the last shot the film didn't advance correctly so half the frame is double exposed. Looks a bit like a frame jitter in an old 8mm camera....

Just a simple souvenir shot from an expedition to Russian Karelia last June. The film used here is 35mm Fuji Superia Xtra 400 that I shot at EI 100 and developed in a normal way. Colour balance is quite good IMO. The ugly "Fuji green" is also gone but I can see just a tiniest amount of brownish tint. Almost no visible grain. It looks much better than shooting the film at box speed. You might want to waste some Fuji Superia Xtra film and try it at EI 100-160 sometimes.

I had to drive across Washington State earlier this week to look at an upcoming project in Idaho. These were all taken in the Palouse of Washington on Monday and Tuesday. They were shot with a Rolleiflex Automat 3.5 TLR Using Kodak Tmax 100. Semi-Stand developed in Adonal 1-100 for 1 hour.

I don't know why, but I always find myself shooting the condiment setups in restaurants when I stop in for a bite.

A while ago, a friend gave me his remaining film from the 1990s which was not kept refrigerated. I don't shoot a lot of expired film and certainly not much that is almost two decades past its prime. But I threw a roll of TMax 3200 into my Petri Racer and decided to see what, if anything, would develop. I processed the film in R09 (Rodinal) at 1:25 for 8:00. The resulting negatives were extremely dark, but there were some images. I had to boost the contrast in Photoshop using curves a bit.

Its actually just regular old DoubleX pushed from 250 to 1600.

I can't remember what film this was but it was colour C41 developed in Rodinal

But this is 13 years out of date and cheap C41 developed

Awesome, I now have a pile of Black and White film to shoot! I have been hesitant to use this film not knowing what speed to shoot it at. I send my color film to a lab for processing and the cost can add up doing experiments and getting back bad results.

I find myself at a loss this week about what to post! I have tons of vacation shots I'm still sorting through, and I just shot some Tri-X in the Minolta and also just scanned a roll that I had from last month. Finally decided on these for whatever reason, probably because both the boy's and dog's complete abandon to their immediate pursuit make me chuckle

I'm scanning my vacation polaroids right now. I was lucky enough to a) park behind a beautiful, pristine turquoise colored 1955 Thunderbird, b) open a "new" old box of Type 52 that expired in June 1998, and c) find that the chemicals weren't dried up (hooray!)

Ackk! I meant to include a couple others. This is the first time I've ever shot ProVivid 689. The colors are like an opalescent rainbow and varied so greatly between shots within the same pack! I shot one pack in my lg format cam and the other in my medium format cam.
Edit: both packs of film 11yrs old. Trying to start using up my supply going by the oldest polaroid stock, first.

How do you do this? I tried out 2 packs of NOS Polaroid film (SX70) and they were both dried out to powders

So now I just open my checkbook up wide and let IP fill in a very large number there

I shot 25, 16 and 8 on the same roll and was able to get images from all of them. Brightly lit red/orange/yellow subjects worked better than blue or green subjects. The shopping cart and graffiti shots were at 16 with direct overhead sun. The watermelon/tangerine was at 25 under fluorescent light. The brownie was shot at 8, but it is sitting on a green leafy bush. So, if you were to send me more film

I would redscale it and shoot at 25 for convenience. I used regular 'scotch' tape to stick the film together after cutting it.

OK, I was going to content myself with just posting one photo, but now you've started talking about redscaling, so I am compelled to post again. You all drove me to this....

Anyway, in a fit of boredom, I acted on the impulse to redscale some Fuji Superia 200 and run it through my Olympus 35 SP. Based on past experiences and some (inconclusive) things I read online, I decided to really blow it out to try to burn through the mask and see if I could get some actual colors out of it. I settled on five stops over as my baseline, and adjusted exposures from there.

The results were interesting. Some shots had a mild warm tint, like this one:

Others had little trace of red, instead looking faded and color-shifted, but showing no indication that they were shot on redscaled film.

It seems some films require a lot of light to blow through the mask, while others can get by with considerably less. Five stops might have been a bit much; I'll try four next time. I realize this probably has virtually zero relevance for the expired slide film y'all were talking about, but this is the internet - threads shouldn't go on this long without pointless tangentialization.

Indofunk, sometimes it's the luck of the draw, I suppose. I had another box of t52 that was powder. SUCH a let down. Never had that happen before, but kinda expect it may have let some of my stock get too old and am trying to make an effort to 'use or lose'.

Thanks Ann! Yes there was a police officer walking around on top of the cliff and a rescue service boat going around at the bottom. Not sure what was going on there. I really hope it was just an exercise and no one fell off the cliff.
