Show me your (hypothetical) album cover art
« on: July 17, 2014, 12:35:47 AM »
OK, here's the challenge - since most of us here are old enough to remember album cover art, here's what I propose: take one of your photos that you think would make good album cover art, make it square (albums are square - crop if you need to), and post it. But here's the twist: you need to post not only the picture, but the band for which you think it would have been most appropriate. You can post as many as you like, but you need to have the photo and an associated band for each one. If you want to get really creative, drop the name of the band in there digitally (I'm not that creative...).

I'll start things off. Here's the photo:

I'm thinking The Specials, in red, in the upper right quadrant.
Any man who can see what he wants to get on film will usually find some way to get it;
and a man who thinks his equipment is going to see for him is not going to get much of anything.

Umm, this is a bit too easy for me, because I've shot album covers for my own bands, so technically I can just post those :)

I'll try to go with the spirit of this thread, though ;) Good idea, by the way!

Which part of "hypothetical" did you not understand?  :P

Seriously, feel free to post the album covers you've shot - you've certainly got authenticity on your side.

I actually have some album covers that I shot for some bands and some shots that were used by Paul Carrack on one of his DVD's all digital though

Taken in March 2009 in Brighton (where else?). The 'Who' poster bottom left is actually for a tribute band.

It's been done!? And that recently!? Was I asleep!? (Probably...) Well, looking at that thread, it seems maybe this is slightly different in concept. Slightly...(allow me to salvage some dignity, won't you?).

Okay, I'll play...
excuse the lameness of this, but then I've seen some really lame album covers over the years!

this would be for "Men at Work"    I know, I know....    ::)
now that song is stuck in your head....

Ooh, I just thought of what album would go with this. Not an LP but an EP - anyone remember those? So this is the cover for The Police "Walking on the Moon" EP:
