Here are two from a roll of Ektar, indifferently developed at the local drug store. I didn't know that it was possible to get such pronounced grain on Ektar--disappointed. They are mountain views. The first from the Isle of Skye, Scotland and the second from the Beira Alta, Portugal.
That is a real shame. The Old Man of Storr and the Quaraing are wonderful places to visit (I've visited Skye a few times) and the place you shot in Portugal also looks lovely. You'd think that C41 processing via machine would be virtually infallible - but clearly not.
I've had mixed luck with Ektar on the few occasions I've used it. Sometimes over-saturated, sometimed wishy-washy and once, some very odd colours I struggled to correct. That said, there are plenty on here who get really good results from it.
As for processing, I've got to the point that I only take film to High Street labs when I know I can go and re-shoot relatively easily. If it's something that I want to keep, print and / or post, I use a specialist lab. There's no guarantees, either way, of course, but I just try to reduce the risk.....
