Topic: My Account of the 2013 Toronto Board Meeting

Out of this whole event I ended up shooting only about 2 rolls. But spaced out over 3 rolls. I still have one more roll to finish and process from the end portion of this event!

Background info:

The board meeting is an annual event in Toronto. Hundreds of longboarders and skateboarders congregate in the city and parade through the streets bringing the city to a halt. It all started with a group of maybe 60 people and has now grown to upwards of 1000. It happens every second weekend of september and is really a lot of fun.

I decided this year not to board as the likeliness of falling or being taken out is pretty high. So I biked and stopped at certain locations along the ride.

All starts off in a park on the nothern end of the city. Lots of free stuff being handed out (or shot out in this case!)

Then the ride begins. Usually there's an option of riding down hill or taking a more mellow route for those scared of riding downhill in a pack of 1000.

There's usually a stop at Queens Park for everyone to get a big group photo. This year though the best photogenic part of the park is under construction. After that its down towards City Hall!

City Hall had some mexican celebration going on so there were hundreds and hundreds of people around. Quite something to see.

Sadly, my time ran out and I never got to finish the event at the final meeting place. Great event captured some wonderful moments.

Great shots tintin. The board mtg is truly awesome and u captured it well. I am sorry that my old knees have betrayed me and I could not make it (this year at least) but glad to see u captured the spirit well.

Its called the board meeting so everyone has to dress up like they are members of the board, like if it were a corporate board. Kind of a funny play on words.
