It was the film that Lara / myself went to see at The Curzon on Shaftesbury Avenue.

Absolutely brilliant. Loved every second of it and it just reinforced what a true gentleman Don McCullin is and how newspapers - especially from the early 1980s onwards, have stifled proper photojournalism and replaced it with gory sensationalism.
"An ounce of perception. A pound of obscure".

Watched it this morning over breakfast.  There aren't enough superlatives to do the man and his work justice.

I found his work and his words to be very insightful. I'll definitely watch it again.

It was a great watch, his attitude was amazing, totally honest. I'm not sure I could have coped in those situations.

Charles: breakfast? How did you keep it down? :)

Luckily I had a light breakfast and had finished it by the time DM went to Berlin.  The rest contained some pretty strong stuff.

Ken B: eyes, I just do eyes.

Charles, show some backbone young man, you'll embarrass the family name  ;)

I have to agree it was a little rough, but that's why he is so compelling, his shots don't sensationalise or glorify the tragedies he captures. He did note he disliked having picked up the moniker "war photographer"

In Oz he is known but doesn't have the profile he has here, I do hope they show this doco down under.
Age can weary me when it can keep the hell up
