Yes and No.

Oil or water-colour? Pastel or Acrylic? The medium is a highly personal choice. One may have a preference; or be a devotee of one to the exclusion of all others. It's useful to engage, occasionally, in this sort of debate - but only as a way of acknowledging that there are alternatives. Undoubtedly, it is now possible to produce beautiful results using either film or digital processes.

The whole argument is as boring as the whole vinyl x CDs.

What I like in the arcticle is the fact that people were having the very same discussion when photography came along, at the time it wasn't considered art at all or something just for the stupids who couldn't paint. The good thing is that we can embrace both worlds and the take the benefits of each medium in pro of your final work.
