Hasselblad CLA?
« on: November 18, 2012, 08:52:38 PM »
Has anyone had any happy experience of a Hassy CLA in the UK? Although my Hassy isn't playing up *touches wood* the lens barrel has always been a little stiff (I can see the jokes coming from here)  ;) so I thought a CLA might be in order.

Suggestion appreciated?

Hi Nigel,

If I had any issues with my 500c/m or any of my lenses, I'd have no problem taking them to Aperture on Museum Street from whence most of it originated. Richard and Patrick have always played fair with me and I've yet to find anyone who has a bad word to say about them. If they aren't confident to fix the problem, they'd send to Hasselblad who, from all accounts, are able to service most kit from the V series.

The downside, I suppose, is that as it's not cheap kit, servicing / repairs won't be cheap either. But it is superbly made and the lenses are beautiful.....

Thanks Paul. I'm going to be in town on Saturday I'll pop in to Aperture and ask.

A bit late to the party, Nigel. I have used Hasselblad in the UK for a couple of things and can't speak highly enough of them. Not the cheapest, but, great customer service. I had a back serviced by them and my camera jammed on one occasion - they talked me through the whole procedure over the phone at no cost and it took quite some time. I loved how they initially asked me how my nerve was - I could send it to them for a service, or, if I had a small screwdriver, they would talk me through it. I went for the screwdriver option! 30 minutes later, camera unjammed.

Thanks Phil, I do like the idea of Hasselblad doing it but thought I light be frightened by the cost. I'm going to email them and see what they say.

Just in case you wanted to ship it over the pond, nearly everyone I know in the US sends their Hassey's to Mr. Odess.

That would be worth adding to the references forum.

Talk about late the party; I'm here in time to sweep up....

A few years ago I was in London to shoot a friend's wedding. A light shield tore in one of my A12 backs. After the cursing and panic I tracked down http://www.jdcamtech.com/. The website shows a box number in Woking, but he was (is?) in Clerkenwell.
