Interesting Camera Nr.37 - Superheadz LAST CAMERA
« on: October 26, 2012, 02:55:22 PM »
I've totally missed that this came out, it's Superheadz latest creation. and with a name like that... what do they mean??

anyhow, it seems interesting. it's a DIY camera and after the fun I had with building my gakkenflex I'm intruiged now too...
here are the specs (google translated) :

■ Using film : 35mm film, ISO400 recommended

■ PVC Size: D33mm × H70mm × W110mm

■ Shutter Speed: [22mm] 1/125 about, [45mm] 1/100 about

■ use lens configuration: two plastic lens

■ Weight: 120g (22mm lens when mounted)

■ accessories: A set of parts, manual, driver for assembly, 22mm lens / 45mm Lens, light leakage backdoor backdoor / Normal

two things interest me here: being able to switch lenses, and one being 22mm(!)

same focal length as the uws I've got so no real upgrade there. 45mm is nice too.. though I can't find any info on aperture for the lenses. it also has a lever on the top for bulb mode.

seems like a fun little camera!

fuzzyeyeballs ndroo has two entries on his blog about the camera:

Interesting! But I guess with the Vivitar UWS and the PN2011 I might now have enough toy cameras for now (not sure if that's possible ;)) ...

Toy cameras are sneaky. You get one, then another... and as soon as you know it, you have a bunch of them and you love them all equally.

You're right. And selling them isn't really worth it so you just keep them ...

that's crazy about the UWS, I bought both of mine at a thrift store for $3 each!  I LOVE mine.

I think they make the best photos for cheap plastic crappiness.

I got my Viv UWS for £0.99 in a charity shop in 2004.  I sold it earlier this year on the bay for £29.00

They mention on their Facebook page that you can order directly from them here: https://www.powershovel.co.jp/form/overseas_order/

No idea about the cost though.

Whoever dies with the most toy cameras wins.

Found it in the U.S: http://www.ultrafineonline.com/su35diylaca.html

Don't know anything about the company, but might give them a chance anyway.

It needs a nice skin though...

With those removable panels, it should be easy to do something fun. Some adhesive, an X-ACTO knife and an old purse and voila.
