mamiya c220 advice sought
« on: April 05, 2012, 09:44:09 PM »
Admins, please bump this to another forum category if appropriate.

I sold my Mamiya C330 & picked up a C220 as the form factor of the C220 suited my shooting style better (smaller, lighter). I should have researched it better though as I was unaware the C220 focusing lens is not parallax corrected to the taking lens.

Does anyone here have experience with the various correction plates for available for the c220?

advice appeciated.

There is a gadget for parallax correction (the name escapes me) for the C220 that fits onto a tripod allowing you to shift the camera into the correct plane.Hope this will help.

I've just recalled the name of the gadget! It is the Mamiya Parramender, fits on a tripod with the camera on top, after focussing you can move the camera up so the taking lens replaces the viewing lens position.

The 220C viewing screen should have reference marks for parallax correction. If those are missing someone must have had the screen replaced. You can of course make your own reference marks by trial. The paramender gadget is unknown to me.
