WTB/WTT: 16mm "spy camera" film cartridge
« on: November 22, 2011, 01:48:39 AM »
I just bought a Minolta-16 MG "spy" camera, the kind that takes 16mm film.  I bought it in spite of its not having a film cartridge in it already, figuring that, since I've seen them for sale on eBay before, I could find one again, now that I needed one.  HA!  As of this writing, there's nary a one to be found being sold by itself.  In the U.S., that is, I didn't check eBay.co or eBay.co.ir or eBay.tierradelfuego.  ;)

So...if there's anyone here who might have a spare cartridge/magazine/cassette/whattyacallit, I'd be interested in taking it off your hands for sale or trade.  Please let me know, and thanks in advance!

I bought some spy cam film a while back for one of mine, let me check if i have a roll of 16mm lying about it the film box in the fridge - if i do you can have it.

Mine was for one of these HIT spy cams - will it fit yours? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-GOLD-HIT-MINIATURE-SPY-CAMERA-FILM-Tiny-Vintage-Old-Antique-1950s-Classic-/220903828689?pt=US_Vintage_Cameras&hash=item336ee4ecd1#ht_2207wt_1344

Hi Suzi, thanks, but the HIT and the Minolta, the twain shall never meet.  Different size cartridges.  But I appreciate your asking!

A buddy of mine has come thru since I initially posted, with one cartridge, but naturally another one would come in handy, for those who might have a spare.

Ah never mind. Be nice to see your results once you get going. I never had much luck with the HIT as the film got jammed and no amount of gentle tugging would move it, its still in the camera on a shelf until such day as I decide what to do next with it.

Thanks, Suzi -- I hope to get to it in the coming week.  I'm struggling to finish a test roll in an Olympus OM-1 I got recently, then I'll go to the Minolta.  I will post some results (if I have any).
