Post by: Bryan on December 29, 2017, 07:00:55 PM
A few from Yountville, CA in the Napa Valley.  Photographed with a Zeiss Ikon Super Ikonta 531/2.  The film is Ilford Delta 100 developed in Beer.

Haven't posted here for a long time, but over the holidays have been busily scanning photos from the past few months.  This one is from a short trip to Amsterdam in October.  The NSDM Werf in Amsterdam Noord is certainly well worth a visit.  More details at www.ndsm.nl (http://www.ndsm.nl).

Mother Nature decided to get serious about winter last week.  These first two are before and after views of a tree-tangle that I have been following for about thirty years.  All four are taken on walks in Lincoln Woods, Lincoln, Rhode Island.  The first was made on Arista EDU 100.  The other three were made on Tri-X.  All four were made in a Century Graphic 23 camera with a 90mm Angulon lens and developed in Rodinal, semi-stand.

A bit of warmth to this cold, cold New Year's Eve.

Millie joined our family about 6 months ago.
As I type this, she is climbing the christmas tree behind me for no other reason than "because it's there".

Don't let her benign appearance fool you, she is a bonsai tiger with a fearsome array of weaponry, and I have the scars to prove it!

Olympus OM4. Ilford Delta 3200 rated @ 1600 and dev'd in D-76.

I have stacks of expired Porta 400 and 800 in 120 to use up so there will be a lot of colour in 2018

Really nice shots everyone. Bryan, your tree really speaks to me. I love the symmetry and the tree's shape.

I shot the following photos on my Lipca Rollop I on Fomapan 400. It's the first time I used Fomadon LQN to develop the Fomapan 400 and I'm very happy with the result. It's a very good developer for the Fomapan and I have the subjective impression that the latitude of the film is much better with Fomadon LQN.

Well this weekend I had planned to develop a colour film from earlier in the year, but on opening the new box of chemicals I discovered i'd got two bottles of "bleach fix part 2" and no stabiliser. So instead I developed a black and white film I shot at the start of the month, HP5+ in an old Ricoh AF-2, pushed to 800 in Rodinal.

I haven't used stabiliser in years. I just throw out the packet that comes in the Unicolor kits. Apparently it's not even necessary for modern film stocks, and even though I usually use expired filmstocks, I find it an annoying step at the end, and it certainly doesn't affect the look of the film at the time of scanning. As to its archival value, if it's gone it's gone :D

Here's a photo using "my" patented technique of 4 corner partial overlap panorama using my Holga WPC. I made one similar photo (https://flic.kr/p/uWu56k) a couple of years ago at the top of a firetower in Beacon, NY, which came out a lot better. This one was taken on the roof of my apartment building.
