Title: Weekend Nov. 3rd - Nov. 5th
Post by: MiguelCampano on November 03, 2017, 01:05:53 PM
I don't see a weekend post as of right now, so... Let's get started!

Taken at Lake Nockamixon, PA, using Rollei CR200, developed in C41 chems that were pretty much exhausted.

Taken from DUMBO, in Brooklyn. Ilford HP5+ pushed to 1600, developed in Ilfotec DD-X 1:9 for 19 minutes, one agitation every two minutes.

Have a great weekend!

That's some serious saturation in the first shot. Is that a characteristic of the film (I've never used the Rollei CR200)?

Mine are from my soon-to-depart (via the Share the Love thread) Yashica Lynx-14:

Very nice shots! The first one is my favorite. The lines the timber makes..

Regarding the film, I'm not sure. The only other time that I've used it, developed in a lab, it had a regular saturation and a yellow-ish cast all over the pictures. Some of the shots in the roll were overly saturated. Some had a weird, beige cast all over, and others were just horrible in terms of highlights. The first shot was adjusted in Lightroom, "downgrading" the highlights to -20.

This is another very saturated shot from the roll. The only adjustment was contrast (reduced by 15 in Lightroom) and added +10 of sharpness.

I have another roll of CR200 that I will cross process again, this time in fresher chems.

I suspect the combination of limited exposure latitude and cross-processing is largely responsible for the look. I'm guessing it's only good for about 4-5 stops before it blocks, and both of the shots you posted are fairly high contrast scenes.

You definitely know more than I do. I just recently found out what semi-stand development is, which is what I tried doing with the B&W shot. Something that I'm grateful for in this site (now that we're in Thanksgiving season), is that you learn something new almost every day!

The CR-200 is described by Rollei as having rich and warm colours. You will probably have noticed that the polyester base itself is yellow. I have shot quite a few rolls of it myself, and it's fine as long as you adjust the colours in post processing.

Two close-up shots from me this week.

Contax 645 / Zeiss Apo-Makro-Planar 120mm f4.0 with 85B filter / Fujichrome RTPII 64T

A "joiner" of a church in Ljubljana, Slovenia, shot on several frames of Agfa Vista 200 in an Olympus 35RC:

Lovely work this week, everyone. I particularly like Kevin's church. I bought my 35RC new in 1976, on a clearance table, for $47. Still in the family; my daughter used it for high school and college photo classes and, if film's still available in the mid-late 20s, hopefully her children will use it as well.

For me, one from the Nikon F2, 10.5/2.5 Nikkor-P (Sonnar), at the Newport Beach Civic Center. Acros 100.

Some lovely abstract art on the thread so far. Love O2 Pilot's first....

Mine are a couple from a walk down the beach at Paphos in Cyprus. Mostly scrub plants but there was also an art installation of paintings on basic cross / humanesque MDF boards.  Leica MP + 50mm Summicron + Kodak Pro Image 100.  I must say I've been pleased with the film.  It seems to sit somewhere between Portra and Ektar in terms of palette and it handled contrast and shadow detail really well.

Great color this weekend, here’s some more from a recent trip to Hawaii for work, and a little fun.  Leica IIIa with a Jupiter-12 35mm f/2.8 lens.

Expired Kodak Gold 200.

Expired Kodak Versatility Max 400.  My wife stayed here back in the 1970’s so I had to spend a night after I finished my work.

Lovely photographs all again this weekend!
Been trying out a Kodak Brownie Cresta 3 with expired Shanghai GP3 (ISO 100). Just test shots nothing special. Film suffers from extreme backing paper bleed but I like the super gritty results it gives though. Plus it's impossible to read the frame number from the red backing through the red window! Had to guess frame position and gave me only nine frames in the end.
Developed in Rodinal 1+50 for 15 minutes 20C.

Many great contributions again this week. Love Kevin's joined image and Bryan's trees on the beach.

I tried a Polaroid 1000SE camera I had not used before. The camera worked just fine, but the temperatures were too cold for the impossible film to develop properly.

Manuel, good result with the Polaroid film - nice soft atmospheric shots.

I am catching up with the scanning.
Taken with the Olympus Trip on Fuji Provia 100 slide film, out of date 10+ years but the colours are still very good. Some years ago picked up a shopping bag full of various Fuji films, for free. No special storage, just under a bed! Normal E6 lab process.
First couple from Wycombe airpark - the flag took a few frames to get right, it was very windy. The church tower is in Denham Village, near my office.

I love Kevin Allan's stitch and Bryan's happy accident :)

This is an unintentional partial double exposure created by my SRT102 at Photoville earlier this year. It looks like a panorama, but it is an impossible panorama because I believe the left frame is actually to the right of the right frame :D Taken on some expired Fuji Superia 400 that I redscaled and shot @16.
