That's a very neat camera. Its been decades since an instant camera with controls for "real" photographers. Myself, I have an SX-70 kit, complete with leatherette carrying case and a light bar of flash bulbs, but haven't yet explored The Impossible Project's offerings. I also have a Fuji Instax 210, it makes 16:9 aspect ratio instant prints, but the camera's controls are very simplistic, with push button/LCD controls for zone focus and several exposure adjustments. This camera, however, is very interesting, and I applaud Fuji's success with instant film, especially considering the percentage growth rate of their market.

Here's their webpage announcing it:
http://instax.jp/mini90/ (http://instax.jp/mini90/)
No release date though! (I too want one.....)
-
released on Sept 20th in Japan.... no word on else where.
Looks good and the price of their film is more appealing. (if I remember correctly) Might me worth it. Though did I see the price tag could be as high as $200 is the us (that means more here in Canada)?

If they put on it a better lens than on my old Instax 100, this could prove to be a big stick in Impossible's wheel!
The instax film is cheap. It's fast. It's got good color. It's reliable. Its quality control is next to none.
And the camera is just beautiful.

I am asking Santa for one!
Santa told me I have to sell some of my other cameras. :)
Okay, I said! :)

Wow between this and the post about negs with fp100 my instant cravings are getting strong.
This new camera looks exciting from what I have read. Regarding that, it is pretty cool that non-analog gadget sites (such as gizmodo (http://gizmodo.com/fujifilm-instax-mini-90-brings-retro-flare-to-instant-f-1183094552)) are giving it a positive take. That is nice to see. Santa might get a note about it from me as well!
One last comment on the circular nature of design. This camera is clearly inspired by the attractively designed fuji X series digicams. Which of course are inspired by the analog beauties we know and love. So here we have an analog camera inspired by digital cameras inspired by analog cameras ;-)

Im not impressed so far with the specs. But that don't mean too much. Some nifty options bulb, tripod bush and multi-exposure, was hoping for a better AF system and finder. Dont like that it uses a rechargeable battery from the digital cameras. Now let's do a new wide 900 body!
200$ in Japan don't necessarily mean the same for the UK, EU, or NA.

My wife want one ;) I wouldn't mind one either :D
Only recently bought two Mini 50s for my children. This release makes me confident they will not be abandoning instax in a hurry. Good news for the kids, they adore the Fujis.

yes yes - all positive selling/buying points
i like it

Not really had an interest in the Instax range as they all looked so blobby, but this one looks pretty cool.
Also a positive sign that there is a sufficient interest to develop new cameras!
I hope they're not just going to keep it for the Japanese market.

This is the sort of camera that could tempt me to have a proper go at "instant". Lara and I are in America in October, so we'll keep an eye out in Chicago, St Louis, Oklahoma and LA/Santa Monica to see if it's become available over there by then.

When I think I almost bought an Instax Mini 8 last weekend for 75$......
-
This is at the top of my list..just as long as my husband doesn't notice ...I'll just say..."oh, this old thing, I've had it for years"..always works..sort of... :) ;)
-
Pretty confident i will be getting one. Always looking for the next all singing, all dancing camera ( to mask my lack of talent ).
-
nice! a bit pricey but great news if it can allow longer exposures for night time. I got my girl a mini 25 and we've got many cute shots from special occations :)
fuji is seriously pumping out cameras! instax 8 and that piano black aren't old at all.
though I wouldn't mind if they released another film, maybe bw/sepia?
