For some reason I am avatar challenged.
I understand that it wants a link to a web site. Apparently it does not like Flickr.
Is there a size requirement?
I'm just wondering if I am missing something very fundamental, or just dumber than my children think...

It works from Flickr, you just have to select share on Flickr and select only the address to the image in the long string it gives you.

simple:
-find an image you want to use
-right click it
-copy the url adress
-then paste it in in your forum profile.
I don't know if the forum resizes images, so try to find a small image you want to use. :) no worries! the forum resizes.

No. You can use other locations. As long as the image is accesible via url.

Was wondering if anyone could help me out on this too? im having a hard time making it work out.
Didnt know if i really should make a new post about it.
Maybe i could a mod my info and the link to the picture i wanted...i feel like ive tried it a million times now.

Im not 100% i think its just the interface, i mean its very simple to grab the link from my flickr, but when i paste it and hit change profile my photo just comes up blank after it reloads.
i thought i could figure it out, but after a couple months thought i would ask.haha

Same boat here. The URL from Flickr just doesn't seem to work. Here's the one I am trying to use:
