Title: notes and query?
Post by: euge... on February 25, 2012, 10:40:33 AM
Has anybody any ideas what caused the marks on the photos below. They are more evident on the poorly exposed images and not obvious on the better exposed ones.I used an electro 35 gsn and have'nt had an issue with it before. They were processed in one hour and I was using agfa vista 400.

Looks like a processing fault. Do the smears extend outside the image area and do they line up with the sprocket holes?

Ditto that--the regularity and number (looks like eight to me) screams 'sprocket holes'.  I've occasionally had a light leak that made a similar pattern (I guess the light refracted in the perfs somehow) but those were yellow in color.  I'd agree with Peter and suspect the weak link: the one-hour lab.

Ive had a look and the marks do seem to line up with the sprocket holes. There is no marks outside the image area either. Its hard to see much detail in these areas on the negs.Do you think there is a possibility that it could have occurred at the scan stage?

Should be easy to prove. Rescan the neg but make sure the sprocket holes are covered. If it comes out exactly the same, it's in the neg. I would still guess at a processing fault but not sure what exactly.
