Statement Of Contrasts: [i]This one's all about contrasts. Margate is a famous English seaside town and was quite the attraction many years ago before flights got cheap and everyone started going abroad for their holidays. Nowadays it's a grim, forgotten thing often served up with sides of scary and depressing. Former glories and all that; one contrast. The toilet sign pointing towards the fun fair; a second contrast. Compare this half-baked photo with Susan's wonderful Ferris wheel shots from last year; a third contrast. One more? Hmmm, let's see. OK, this is a bit of a reach, but Martin Parr famously documented the British seaside in vibrant colour and now I'm doing it (obscurely) in depressing monochrome; a fourth contrast.
